Job Vacancy: Research Scientists at Hong Kong Light-Emitting Molecular Materials Limited
We are looking for full-time Research Scientists to develop luminescent molecular materials for OLEDs and/or biomedical devices. The candidates shall have prior experience with a variety of organic reactions and materials characterization. The appointees will be involved in a research project focused on commercializing R&D outcomes, with support from government, industry, and academia. This position offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of academia and OLED materials development.

Job descriptions
- Conduct organic syntheses of luminescent molecular materials for OLEDs and/or biomedical devices
- Design and optimize synthetic processes of organic compounds as needed
- Characterize the properties of luminescent molecular materials
- Visualize and analyze the experimental data
- Prepare project reports and presentation slides
- Collaborate closely with research team to achieve the project milestones
Qualifications
- PhD or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related discipline
- Candidates with a PhD are preferred; applicants with a Master’s degree may be considered for appointment to an assistant position.
Job requirement
- Background in organic or organometallic chemistry is required
- Proficiency in column chromatography and characterization techniques (e.g. NMR, UV-vis and IR absorption spectroscopy)
- Experience with organic material development is preferred
- Knowledge of photophysics and experience with photophysical measurements are advantageous
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese
- Self-motivated and responsible
