Symposia
The Hong Kong-Shanghai-Münster Joint Trilateral Symposium on Organometallic Chemistry
This Joint Trilateral Symposium serves as an international workshop aiming to increase knowledge-exchange and cooperation among chemists from the research fields of organometallic chemistry, and their applications on chemical biology, materials and catalysis. Collaborators: Prof. Gerhard Erker (Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, Germany); Prof. Armido Studer (Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, Germany); Prof. Guo-Xin Jin (Fudan University, China); Prof. Kuiling Ding (Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, CAS, China) The 10th Joint Symposium was hosted by The University of Hong Kong in December 2023. The 11th Joint Symposium is scheduled at Shanghai. |
The Metal-Carbene Consortium
Metal-carbene chemistry is an important research area but yet there are still a lot of unknowns in this research field, which limits the industrial or biological application of metal-carbene chemistry. In this regards, a joint force effort from different research fields, e.g. coordination chemistry, catalysis, natural product synthesis, chemical biology etc., is necessary to transfer the existing knowledge and technology to practical application. The Consortium is the first international platform to bring the related researchers together for extensive knowledge exchange. Collaborators: Prof. Michael P. Doyle (University of Texas at San Antionio, USA); Prof. Jianbo Wang (Peking University, China); Prof. Michael Fuk-Yee Kwong (Chinese University of Hong Kong) The 4th International Symposium on Carbene and Nitrene Chemistry was hosted by University of Amsterdam in July 2023. The 5th International Symposium is scheduled at Spain. |
The Hong Kong-Beijing/Nanjing-London Joint Symposium on Frontier Inorganic Chemistry
This Joint Symposium on Frontier Inorganic Chemistry serves as an international workshop aiming to increase knowledge-exchange and cooperation among chemists from the research fields of inorganic and coordination chemistry, and their applications on chemical biology, materials and catalysis. Collaborators: Prof. Nicholas Long (Imperial College London, UK); Prof. Jun-Long Zhang (Peking University, China); Prof. Jing-Lin Zuo (Nanjing University, China) The 2nd Joint Symposium is scheduled at Nanjing. |
Industrial Collaboration
With Guangdong Aglaia Optoelectronic Materials Co., Ltd
We have forged a close ties with Aglaia, one of the largest manufacturers of OLED materials in Mainland China, to work in partnership in strategic development of proprietary tetradentate platinum(II) emitters toward industrial uses. The concerted efforts have led to successful realization of operationally stable and high-performance green platinum-OLEDs of commercial competence, which are to be put into mass production soon. |
